Clark v. LG Electronics U.S.A. “placed LG on notice of the defective nature” of its compressors in 2013 by focusing on its Smart Cooling System. We paid $160 on the first visit and was quoted $715 for the labor to make repair. ft. refrigerator from Sears on January 24, 2019 for $1,151.97. This is bull crap! After paying well over $1800.00 this issue I find out now is a common issue that was known for compressor failures. I also bought a 3 year warranty. We have a Kenmore 795.51833.412 (26 months) the LG Compressor broke. 795.74042.411 -made by LG- in 2015 and after 2.5 years it broke in 2018. Compressor replacement Labor cost $385 plus 2-3 weeks of food spoilage. Lost some food and time from work to have a repair man out. It is alleged that the compressors fail on the refrigerators within the first ten years of use. I went to order replacement and the compressor is listed as no longer made, and there is no replacement for it. It’s clear these refrigerators contain a defective part and the manufacturer needs to do right by us all. I have a 74043 Kenmore Elite manufactured in December 2016. IN DECEMER, 2020, THE REFRIGERATOR DIED! It always seemed odd to me that a practically new refrigerator would break so suddenly, especially after having payed so much money for it. Please include us in your class action against LG. Failed compressor during pandemic last summer. We have since replaced this refrigerator after the both repair tech commented that the replacement compressor he installed was the same model as the failed one and would most likely fail as well. It was manufactured by LG 12/2017. They put in a new cooling fan panel part and only a few months later it stopped cooling again. I have the same problem, have a kenmore elite 795.71054.012 with LG linear compressor. Sears repairman had to consult LG support to complete swap out and repair. Our Kenmore Refrigerator failed and no longer cools. I purchased a Sears Kenmore Elite, Model 795.74023.410 in Oct 2014. To our shock we said NO WAY, what happened to the warranty? It saddens me to hear that LG is not taking responsibility for the their faulty compressor. The settlement is for exactly what happened to our refrigerator except we purchased our refrigerator TWO days from the deadline date and we are still out the same money with replacing the compressor. Had to buy a $300 small fridge for garage so we could function until the repair was completed. Count me in on this class action. Not covered under warranty but under my Sears protection plan. We’re going to purchase a new fridge as we know the compressor will fail again in 2-3 years. It was over 2 weeks after my refrigerator stoped working. I was told by the repair man that the compressor was made by LG but Kenmore was not part of the LG lawsuit. This has been a nightmare and don’t have much hope in getting it repaired to last, this time. Food was ruined and had to wait 2 weeks for compressor and parts. I purchased a Kenmore Elite 795.74015.411 in 2016. I will be letting others know about this product. The repair man that replaced the compressor said he did one before ours and has another tomorrow all the compressor. At least the compressor was under warranty, but that doesn’t help with the cost of the labor and other parts, the cost of food we lost, and boy did we lose a lot. Same thing as before. It will cost $700 to replace it and 2 to 3 weeks to get the part in. Now the compressor. And the new fridge to replace was $2800. Sears needs to reimburse all these repairs, either on their own or through LG. I cancelled that order for a different model to be delivered in 2 weeks, only for it to be rescheduled two more times. We bought a Kenmore Elite in 2017 after our LG failed after 2 years (not realizing the Kenmore is basically the same insides as our old LG). The tech said it would be about a $1000 to do any further work on it and gave me a 50/50 chance of it working. Called Sears back to fix it and they said it would be 3 weeks before another repairman is available!! I initiate my initial service call to Sears on 12/18/2017. The appliance professional charged me $99.00 to tell me my Kenmore Elite had an LG compressor that catastrophically failed internally and would cost over $2000.00 to repair (new compressor) with no guarantee it wouldn’t happen again. Three years later, the unit wouldn’t cool. On 12-21-29 I requested 2nd Sears evaluation with same conclusion. Called a technician who looked at it and said it was a compressor issue and we’d have to replace the fridge (originally purchase for $3500.00!!). The refrigerator is only 2 years old and I was told it will cost me $1,000 to fix because it’s out of warranty. Lost food, time away from work, several repairs made but no solution. I had the issue diagnosed and was told that the compressor is shot and that it will cost $1200.00 to repair. He said LG way overengineered the system and it is far too complicated for a refrigerator. Purchased refrigerator in 2016. Unbelievable……. I called Sears and no service appointment a for over a week. for parts and repair labor. I lost all my food in my refrigerator and most in my freezer the day before Christmas Eve! A few days ago it stopped cooling – November 15, 2020 and two technicians gave us the same diagnosis – bad compressor – Didn’t even get three years out of it and now we are trying to decide whether to get it fixed for $800 or cut our losses and get a different fridge. Refrigerator failed to cool latter October 2020. It’s only 4 years 8 months old. On 7/1- called to schedule another repair because it was not cooling again & freezer items unthawing too. this time they offered to come out december 13. i can’t wait a month for repair. Bought a Kenmore refrigerator in 2015.
